Valentine's Day + Rainbows

Ever since I learned ROYGBIV way back in elementary school as a way to remember the colors of the rainbow in order, I've loved rainbows!  I often like to use rainbow colors in my card making.  Being that it's close to Valentine's Day, I thought I'd come up with a card to incorporate the two ideas.  I chose 6 colors of Catherine Pooler inks to stamp out the hearts and then 6 more ink colors in lighter shades to color in the hearts using a Zig Blender pen.

After coloring each heart, I used the coordinating die to cut them out.  Then I moved on to the card base itself.  I wanted some horizontal stripes in the lighter color of ink and something over top of them in the darker shade of ink.  I found two stamps that would work perfectly!  The stripe stamp is from a Catherine Pooler Designs set called Eat, Sleep, Create and the wavy line stamp is from a stamp set by Simon Says Stamp called I Love Donuts.  All three stamp sets I used are shown below.

I used my MISTI to stamp out the horizontal stripe so that I could stamp it straight as well as space it evenly from top to bottom on the card front.  I stamped all the lighter colors with the stripe first, and then I changed out the stamp in the MISTI to the wavy line stamp and stamped over the light colors with the darker colors.  Once all that stamping was done, I arranged the die cut hearts over top of the stripes and adhered with glue.  I love the tone on tone look of this card!

I am debating on whether or not to add a sentiment in the white spaces...If I do, it would most likely be a Happy Valentine's Day sentiment, but I'd have to have just the right size stamp for it!  I'll have to look through my stash to see what I have!
